Job Description The Web Designer III plans and establishes the creative direction for the visual and interaction design of Company websites and mobile offerings, in order to meet business objectives.
o Corresponds with marketing staff to ensure efforts result in web sites reflective of Company branding and market positioning strategies.
o Leads the planning and development process of the Company's web-based user interface design standards, usability guidelines and development methodologies.
o Researches new methodologies and assigns sections ofd development of information architecture, navigational models, visual and interaction designs for the user interface of Company websites and interactive applications. Assigns development and testing of segments of projects as appropriate.
o Leads and directs the production of site maps, html prototypes and the creation of graphics or icons for Company websites and mobile apps. Ensures conformance with Company standards.
o Implements user interface designs, incorporating Graphic User Interface (GUI) features, conforming to Company design standards, usability guidelines, and development methodologies.
o Leads and directs the development of websites utilizing user-centered design principles, directing other designers or content development staff as assigned, while coordinating the effort of cross-functional teams.
o Identifies development challenges or issues. Researches and makes recommendations for solutions and leads the implementation of solutions.
o Manages external vendor or service provider relationships as required ensuring consistent and complete communication of information and facilitation of favorable resolution in matters of negotiation or conflict.
Qualifications o Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below.
o 7-10 years of related experience.
o Practical knowledge of web site design, development and maintenance processes.
o Ability to lead and motivate staff.
o Ability to translate functional specifications into functioning web pages.
o Experience with graphic design tools used for web design.
o Knowledge of various program and system architectures.
o Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize tasks based on business goals and objectives.
o Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
o Ability to identify issues, investigate solutions, and make recommendations for action.
o May be required to carry a notification device and respond to notifications outside of normal business hours.
